Tai and Josh got married! And it was an epic day! With all of us living in Portland, we made sure to shoot part of their engagement session on the Western Promenade where Josh proposed, and we had our pre-wedding meetings around town at Speckled Ax and Caiola's -- the same owners as the delicious Piccolo, who would be keeping all the guests' bellies happy at the wedding. Just like their engagement session, Tai and Josh's wedding day weather was perfect! The rain stopped for their Peaks Island rehearsal dinner on Saturday and The Homestead wedding on Sunday, and then promptly rained again on Monday. Tai and Josh put so much thought and love into their wedding weekend, making sure that their guests had an amazing time. They are two of the kindest, most happy people I have ever met. Their positivity and smiles are so contagious. I'm so grateful I got to document this special time in their lives and have a feeling we'll be friends for a long time. It was so wonderful to see the hard work that everyone involved put into making this wedding day an unforgettable one. Tai and Josh already joked they will throw this party every year. If any annual semblance of this nature occurs... COUNT. ME. IN!!
Thank you for being so awesome, Josh and Tai! Big hugs and much love to you both. Sad to know you've moved, but excited for what's ahead! On your next visit, let's get dinner at the new Caiola's and catch The Dapper Gents at RiRa!! #joshtaistheknot
Tai and Josh's story: "The story of how we met is funny. Josh grew up with and went to K-12th grade with, Ali, Tai's college best friend and roommate. We first met in 2004 at the Preakness (a horse race which consists of a giant day-drinking party on the infield of the racetrack). Sparks didnt fly at that time because we were both dating other people. We saw each other periodically over the next several years, were facebook friends etc. We then re-connected and really hit it off at the same friend's (Ali) wedding in 2014. At the time Josh was living in Brooklyn, NY and Tai was in Boston, in her second year of med school. Starting with Josh's first visit to Boston 2 weeks later, the next year was a whirlwind of falling in love and visiting each other every weekend before we both moved to Portland the following summer where Tai started her 3rd year of medical school. Josh proposed on April 29th, 2016 on the Western Prom-a Portland spot close to our apartment and very special to both of us. It was a total surprise and we left for an engagemoon the next morning and had most of the wedding planned when we got back to Maine a week later."
